Curious about American Mahjong but not sure where to start? Join Kitsap Mahjong for a beginner-friendly Mahjong 101 class at Eleven Wine Bar.

This 3-hour class is designed for brand-new players and anyone who wants a clear introduction to American Mahjong. We will start with a lesson on the tiles, the card, the Charleston, and the basic flow of play, then spend most of the class in guided play. No experience is needed, and no memorizing is required. Materials are provided. Come ready to learn, ask questions, sip something good, and enjoy a social night of Mahjong.

You’ll learn how to:

• Recognize the basic tile groups

• Read a beginner-friendly Mahjong card

• Follow the rhythm of a turn

• Understand the Charleston passing sequence

• Start spotting possible hands while you play

Individual registrations may be combined into shared tables. Kitsap Mahjong will make every effort to accommodate card preferences and seating requests, but cannot guarantee specific table assignments. Registrations are non-refundable but may be transferred to another player or another 101 class with at least 24 hours notice. Please email events@kitsapmahjong.com if transferring your registration.
